June 8, 2025 – The Day of Pentecost

An Apocalyptic Pentecost

When the sky feels like it’s falling—whether in the chaos of the world or the struggles of our own hearts—Pentecost speaks a powerful word of hope. Today we encounter Acts 2 not as a tame church celebration, but as an apocalyptic moment: fire, wind, and divine disruption. But it’s not destruction—it’s revelation. It’s the unveiling of God’s plan to pour out His Spirit because Jesus bore the fire of judgment in our place. As we worship today, we remember: we are not living in the last days of despair, but the first days of new creation. And “whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.”
