The Value of the Lost

Have you ever lost something precious? Remember the frantic search, the single-minded focus until it was found? Our Lord’s parables today reveal that we are His treasured possession. When we wander, He doesn’t shrug and focus on the ninety-nine. He relentlessly seeks the one lost sheep. He diligently sweeps the entire house for the one lost coin. This is the heart of our God! As we gather to worship, let this truth settle in your soul: you are the one He sought. You are the reason for the great rejoicing in heaven. May our hymns and prayers today join that angelic chorus, giving thanks for a Savior who finds the lost.
