And Every Tongue Confess
In his letter to the Christians in the city of Philippi, Paul spoke of the exalted Lord Jesus Christ. He wrote that, having completed His saving work, Jesus was to be worshiped by all people. So worthy is the Christ that “at the name of Jesus every knee should bow… and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.” (Philippians 2:10–11). The work of missionaries, which is to include all of God’s redeemed people, is ultimately to bring glory to God. That glorifying is heard in our praises and shown in our deeds that reflect our Lord’s boundless love and bring others into the circle of His grace.
