Free to Live Unmasked

As we gather for worship this Reformation Sunday, we reflect on the masks we so often wear. In our daily lives, it is easy to put on a face—a mask of self-righteousness, of capability, of “having it all together.” We hide our weaknesses and our sins, hoping to justify ourselves before God and man. But the law of God, as St. Paul reminds us in Romans 3, silences every mouth and reveals all pretense. It shows us that under every mask is a sinner in desperate need of a Savior. Thanks be to God, this day we celebrate the freedom Christ gives! His perfect righteousness is credited to us by faith alone. In Him, we are truly “Free to Live Unmasked.”
