A Warm Invitation
We are delighted that you are considering a visit to Immanuel Lutheran Church. Whether you are new to the Winter Haven area, seeking a church home, or curious about the Christian faith as confessed by the Church of the Lutheran Confession (CLC), we extend a heartfelt welcome. Our doors are open to all who wish to hear God's Word and grow in His grace.
Our Worship Services
Sunday Worship Service
Time: 10:15 AM
Our main worship service is a traditional, liturgical service centered on God's Word and Sacraments. We joyfully use historic hymns and Christ-centered preaching to proclaim the good news of salvation through Jesus Christ.
Sunday School & Adult Bible Class
Time: 9:15 AM
We offer Sunday School for children to learn God's Word at their level, and an engaging Adult Bible Class for deeper study and fellowship.
What to Expect on Your First Visit
Our Atmosphere
You will find a reverent, yet warm and welcoming atmosphere at Immanuel. We are a community of believers who gather to receive God's gifts and support one another in faith. Families with children are always welcome.
Worship Style
Our services follow the historic liturgy of the Christian Church. Worship includes hymns, Scriptural readings, a sermon focused on Law and Gospel, prayers, and the celebration of Holy Communion on the first Sunday of the month.
What Should I Wear?
There is no strict dress code. Most of our members dress casually. Please feel comfortable coming as you are. Our focus is on the heart and the hearing of God's Word.
For Children
Children are a blessing and are encouraged to participate in the service with their families. We offer Sunday School before the service.
The Offering
An offering is gathered during the service as an act of worship for our members to support the ministry of the church. As our guest, please do not feel obligated to contribute. Your presence with us is a gift itself.
Regarding Holy Communion (The Lord's Supper)
Holy Communion is celebrated at Immanuel Lutheran Church on the first Sunday of the month. As a congregation of the Church of the Lutheran Confession (CLC), we practice "Close Communion." This means that we invite to the Lord's Table those who are baptized, have examined themselves, and are in full agreement with the doctrine of the CLC, particularly concerning the Lord's Supper. We believe this practice reflects biblical teaching and expresses our unity in faith.
If you are visiting and are not a member of a CLC congregation, we kindly ask that you speak with our pastor before the service if you desire to receive Holy Communion. He would be happy to discuss our beliefs and practices with you.
