A New Thing in This Old World
There’s something in us that longs for “new”—a fresh start, a second chance, a break from the same old struggles. But in a world weighed down by sin and sorrow, “new” can feel like an illusion. Today, we gather to hear the voice of our God who breaks into the old with something truly new. Not a fleeting upgrade, but a life-giving promise. In His Word, through His Sacraments, and by His grace, our God is doing a new thing—even now. As we worship, may our hearts be opened to see it, receive it, and rejoice in it.
