Who Do You Trust?

Trust is a fragile thing. We say we trust God, but when life gets hard—when finances tighten, when relationships falter, when fear creeps in—where do we really turn? Today, through the words of the prophet Jeremiah, the Lord sets before us a stark contrast: the one who trusts in human strength is like a dry shrub in the desert, struggling to survive; but the one who trusts in the Lord is like a tree planted by the water, steadfast and fruitful even in drought. As we gather for worship, let us come thirsty for the life-giving nourishment of God’s Word and grace, drawing strength from Christ, the One who has rooted us in His unshakable love.
