From the Mountain to the Cross
Mountaintop moments are unforgettable—times of joy, clarity, and awe. Peter, James, and John experienced such a moment on the Mount of Transfiguration as Jesus revealed His divine glory. But as much as they wanted to stay, the mountain was not the destination. Jesus had to go down, to the valley, to the cross. We, too, long for moments of glory, yet life is often marked by suffering. Today, as we hear God’s Word, we are reminded that the Christian life is not about escaping the valley but following Christ through it. Just as He bore His cross for us, He calls us to take up ours, trusting that beyond the suffering, there is resurrection and eternal glory.
