The Son Who Truly Said Yes
In today’s Gospel, Jesus is confronted by religious leaders who challenge His authority. Rather than answering them directly, He tells a short parable about two sons—one who refuses his father and later goes, and another who promises to go but does not. Then Jesus asks a simple question: “Which of the two did the will of his father?” It is a question that reaches far beyond those two sons. What does true obedience look like? What does repentance have to do with it? And what does this parable reveal about those who seem closest to God—and those who seem farthest away? As we gather, Jesus invites us to listen carefully to His answer.
